Infrared Emitters

We utilize the Philips Infrared Radiators for use in the DCN interpretation system. There are currently four model of infrared emitters available, two are 5 watt models, one with a wide angle diffusion and the other with a narrow diffusion pattern.

High efficiency emitters are available in 12.5 watt and 25 watt models which provide coverage of up to 15,000 sq. ft. depending on ambient light and room variables. All emitters feature auto power on with signal and have loop through connectors for daisy chaining and hi-lo power switches.

Infrared emitters are used in order to disburse the interpretation signal throughout the conference venue. Since infrared signals use light not radio frequencies, the signal does not leak through walls allowing multiple systems to be used in adjacent halls. Emitters are usually placed on stands at the corners of the room or suspended in the ceiling grid or lighting truss in large halls. High fidelity, multichannel audio can easily be routed to overflow rooms by just installing a single cable from the transmitter to additional emitters. The convection cooled design of the high powered emitters assures that no fan noise will interfere with an event.
